Just changed the pas pipes and as such drained coolant and removed rad.

When starting to put 3 litres of water in to make a start the overflow on coolant tank constantly dripping although water going straight into system? Strange? In fact there is evidence of a lot of water leaking down that side where the pipe drips. I thought at some point the car had a massive coolant leak and was a past problem but I am now suspecting it is to do with this pipe?

Car has been stood, drained and nit run so no pressure. Why do you think it would drip from overflow?

fill it through a funnel and it will not happen;)... i'm sure you poored the fluid fast and didnt observe some fluid going to the egde of the tank's "neck" , if you watch carefully you'll see that there are thin "channels" in there, the overflow pipe is connected to these cos that's how it works, when the cap's valve opens the fluid comes up through the cap's valve and goes back to overflow pipe through the neck's "drainage" ... i dunno how to explain that better in english, sorry...just take care no fluid to touch the tank's neck and you'll see

you better not use plain water in the system only 50/50 OAT mix if you dont want trouble later
