I have also taken rather a lot of photos & video footage!! I'm off for another 5 days after two at home though, when I get back, so might need a while to process it all!

Fantastic weekend though!! Should be leaving tomorrow morning... and in closest corner of camp site to the Heritage Centre at the moment, so feel free to pop by if you're still here! We're in the caravan next to the black Disco with two flags above the windscreen! :D

had hoped to meet up with one or two lz folk but camping off site and not being able to hang around made life a little tricky. maybe get myself better organised next time

fantastic photos so far, people!

Mine are being edited as we speak... i took rather a lot, so have to upload a set of the best ones!! Hope to do it tonight... and then get to work on the video!! :D

was there also. apparently 380 vehicles on the track, one fail to start in the staging area[ rr sport ] 1959 series pulled over with brake trouble ONE OVERHEAT which wasnt bad considering the weather and the amount of v8s, very good weekend and record broke or not it made money for the cause

380 was the figure quoted by the organisers. Not bad for a limit of 350 imposed by Jaguar Land Rover.

The video evidence of the convoy has been taken away for scrutineering by Guinness Book of Records, so for confirmation of the record, we have to wait for them.

Fingers crossed.

ok... my photos are done!!!

Below is Pete Winner - ex-SAS member who was part of the Iranian Embassy siege. I attended a several-hour talk by him about both the siege and the Battle of Mirbat. Hearing it from the horse's mouth, as it were, was amazing.

being number 20's not bad... although I was number 5 until one of the marshalls dropped back and I became number 4!!!!!:eek::D:D:D:D:D:D

I can't remember whether I was 5th or 4th for the actual record attempt lap, but either way, i'm pretty happy to be that far up out of 380 vehicles! :D

Good to meet you too, of course! :)

Only went for the day but I wish we had camped. Had a fantastic time and my defender drove sweet as a nut. Though after 250 miles I was knackered when I got home. Does any one have any idea how much was raised? And I hope we got the record

Think getting 380 vehicles to all follow each other and maintain a less than two car gap was a bit ambitious.
I managed it and so did the vast majority however ......

It would be great to get the record, but at the end of the day we had fun and raised some money and showed support for a good cause.

Don't think we made the news though :(
