Yeah, i'd thought about that too, i'll have to make some calculations and see what's best.

Cheers!

No worries :) New turbo's are around £500, refurbs are pretty close to that, so it could be a bit of cash before you get the 200 working properly

depends what you want to spend any engine will go in ,it depends on price your willing to pay ,as i said its a lot of work to fit one as lr would have which means std parts for future fixes or bodged in wrong place ,i would go with 2.5 or rebearing 200 ,

This has been on my mind too- i am still worried about the cost of a conversion as well as maintenance costs. As i say i'm reluctant to spend the money on the 200 as i'd then have to find another mode of transport to get to work in London- which would probably cost me more than a conversion in the long run. But i use the land rover for a lot of long journeys and would find it a chore if it was much more underpowered- although when i used to go trialling with my dad there was a guy with a a tuned and bored out 2.5 petrol that would frequently take on the v8's- but then that's more expense. . .

I'll have to see what the garage says- i trust their opinion.

Cheers for the thoughts chaps!!!

Ive got a 110 with a 2.5 petrol in it, was a n/a diesel, but I live near the border of the LEZ and my dad lives in it, so had to convert to petrol.
Nice smooth and very quiet engine.

My mate had a v8 90, went like stink, but the fuel consumption was horrendous!!
The trouble with a v8 is you end up driving it like a v8!

Everytime I see one I'm thinking 'Go on, put your foot down' but the sad truth is they probably can't afford to do that
