Greetings, I am considering converting my Series 1 stationwagon to series 2 running gear, including converting the firewall to the series 2 pedalbox (sort of looks pretty straightforward). Has anyone advice?, Regards.

Yes go to the introduce yourself area quick before the locals start throwing their handbags about;)
that's not very nice you could have at least helped the fellow he is from NZ and it is a series one, my advice to the OP would be to upgrade to series 2 front and rear axles and convert the front brakes to twin leading shoe and don't touch anything else for Christ sake series one station wagons are rare as rocking horse **** so don't go butchering one leave it with the funky pedals and man up oh and put the original axles in storage for they should stay with the vehicle

Behave! I was being nice, I can offer little advice when it comes to early series, but I can however try and help a new member avoid the grilling some get when they ask for advice without introducing themselves, and given the amount of posts you have I'm sure you must have witnessed:confused:

I would put a full synchro box in it too if that isn't already part of the plan.

Its nice to keep them original but there isn't anything wrong with making them more driveable imho, there is a chap on the s1 forum that has put a 200 or 300 tdi in one, can't remember which one it was, really good conversion though.

Never actually seen anyone be attacked for being a 1 poster in the series section... my very first post was in here asking for help, and help was received, none of this "go introduce yourself" crap... that's only for the General forum and probably the 90 / disco boys.
