Anyone have a pair for sale ( for a 1999 XDi) or can anyone send me a link to buy a new set please?

I've found a few (obviously) on the internet, but I was hoping for some advice from experienced owners.....

I'm sure there will be a a clever, witty and intelligent response to my pathetic request!

Okay, so you need to be able to drive on the right rather than the left. So you find some lights with the correct beam alignment on the internet. Buy some. We're not entirely sure where we can help you now. If its fitting them then get the Haynes manual for your model. Alignment and you might need to do some sketches on a blank wall, again Haynes can help with this. Any other problems then ask on here and we'll try and help.

Oh, by the way, Optimus Prime is one of our more knowledgable members when it comes the Freelander. He's a good ally to have so best not to upset him.

I'm sure he's a knowledgeable guy, clever and intelligent perhaps - but witty? I think not.

It was simple request. If anyone has bought continental lights, or, can recommend a reliable source on the net, or has a set for sale...etc. etc.

I apologise if you have taken offence at my response. However, your ORIGINAL UNEDITED post didn't have anything about having already searched the internet, it just asked if anyone had a pair, or if they could give you a link to where to buy them. This implied that you hadn't searched and had just rocked up on here and expected us to do all the running for you.

Subsequent to this, you then edited your post to indicate that you had already searched the internet, which then gave my post the impression of being incorrect.

Once again I apologise, and have the following suggestions:

This item, which I am sure you have already found lists the headlights as LHD, but I can see where you a wary of the price. Your 1999 XEDi can be modified to accept these headlights, if you do a search on here you will find a number of definitive links about the upgrade, but you will have to buy a bumper too, which makes it even more expensive.

Set LAND ROVER Freelander LHD euro headlamps headlights on eBay (end time 30-Oct-09 13:49:53 GMT)

or try:

headlamp shop

They are not listing them, but might be worth a phone call, hopefully they will speak english enough to help, unless you can speak german.

Finally, I assume you are going to live abroad with the vehicle. This will hopefully give you some time between arriving and having the vehicle tested abroad. You could fit continental headlight converters, land rover part no. STC7918 as a temporary measure. Then, once you are wherever you are going, you would hopefully have a chance to find a local breakers yard or similar which would have more chance of having a LHD freelander.

Good luck with your quest.

I'm bringing my UK registered 2002 Freelander Td4 to France and just bought a 2nd hand set of lights from the equivalent of e-bay there. Comparing them to the existing set on the vehicle they look the exact same! Anyone have any knowledge - have I just bought another UK set of UK lights from a French man in France!!!!

If they look the same then yes, probably! There should be a clear difference on the front glass pattern. Not forgetting the lhd version should have a different ref number on the back...

What a thorough response to a problem, great stuff. because it is a problem. I am in the same boat. There are loads of LHD headlamps available for the mark 2, sourcing them for the Mark 1 is a different story. I have tried the ones suggested by you but sadly nothing available.
If you do hear of anyone who can supply I would be most grateful. Thanks

Answer. There are plenty available for the earlier and later models but the 2004 to model change in 2007 are as rare as the proverbial rocking horse s..t.
Be had to bite the bullet and pay £482 for a pair plus postage! Such is life!

Last time I did a headlight change I found the internet address of breakers networks in Spain and France and left a request for one offside headlight within hours I had messages listing half a dozen sources with contact details. Of course when I rang them they all said they only sold in pairs (just what I wanted) brief conversation where I reluctantly agreed to buy pair 100 Euro including shipping from Santander
