Disco 2 Considering a galvanised replacement chassis

The problem with getting "just an old ford", is as the landrover series has its remanufacturing parts companies, does the Ford have the same following,not to sure they do, so if thats the case will there be any Fords of this era not just a pile of rust and bits in 20 years time, I have seen banded about that there are still in excess of 75% of all Landrovers built are still on the road, can we say the same about Fords

Pretty obvious NO to those questions, as you know. Does that make the landy worth the insane prices some of them are going for? Well, that's just opinion. Some would say yes, some no. My point was that 2k can buy a lot of car if you don't have some silly brand loyalty which companies turn around and shove up your backside whenever they get the opportunity! I have never fought the battles of my chosen brands, they have multi-million pound marketing budgets for that (partly paid for by me!) I have better stuff to do than help them sell more cars! I have no particular fondness of Ford, although I think value for money they are right up there. but my 2k would go wherever it got me the best value, i'd also be looking at Saab 9000 and 95. Now if I had 200k and no need to be frugal with it..... thats a different story! Life isn't that good to me lately so I will go with bang for buck. My Disco is a lifetime keeper and it's my "luxury" item, along with my lickle fishing boat of course

yes I agree, but then Landrovers are made originaly to last 45 yrs, Volvo's 17 yrs, the rest well 10 to zero yrs, so a Volvo is a good second choice
