Why would you put a Hippo on a Range Rover... Shirley that's just an insult :rolleyes:

What?
In isolation of the asking price? lol

Maybe @Hippo is trying it on.
Adding the hippo gives it some street cred.

I can confirm it's not me selling it. I do own a P38 4.6HSE but mines green. It was bought as a non runner many years ago (int they all) and has sat there ever since. Suspension doesn't work... electrics don't work... all the usual P38 problems fitted as standard.

RR seller's a chancer I reckon - thinks because it looks to have a very attractive interior that it will hook some naive soul.
Have to say, though, the inside has stood up to the mega miles quite well. As far as you can tell from photos, that is.

It says on the list no questions have been asked. One has, i asked him is he was taking the piss. He answered by asking where would i get a better P38 with 250,000 miles on it that had had £100,000 spent on in servicing. Which all goes to prove that the owner was conned by several garages and he is a dickhead. Told him it was worth £2000.00 tops. He has not replied yet.

He has a choice if the question and his answer are to be viewable ... guess he chose 'no' ...

I re-read the ad,

It's has basically been restored apart from the body in 2012.
New interior parts
New Gearbox
New transfer box
Axles
Head gaskets

Needs 2 bumpers looking at and a polish.

Not worth the ad £££££ but is it worth a mere £2k?
Someone local to seller should pay a kindly visit to see it in the flesh, someone who doesn't have tourettes ideally, lol.

My guess is his wife ordered him to sell it and he know's no one will buy it at that price :D

That's me fucked then :p

So, by this guys thinking, my pretty damn clean 2000 model with it's recently overhauled EAS pump & valve block, soon to be fitted new gearbox oil cooler, LED headlamp bulbs, hydro dipped grille, full set of summer & winter tyres + spare (9 in total) FSH, 94k miles with an engine that's barely covered 13k.....I should be asking twice that :D

Any car is only worth what someone else is willing to pay. It does look a very good example and if all that stuff has been replaced for new, it will be worth a fair bit. Crappy old series 3's are going for £3 to £5 grand so it's got to be worth double that.

You'll be lucky to get a bag of Midget Gems. :)

If you have a car worth £2000.00 and the engine blows it is worth potentially scrap money. If you fit a replacement engine it is again worth £2000.00. That car is worth nothing like what is being asked.

it saddens me that some bugger had spent all that money restoring a lot of areas of the car to then sell it on expecting somebody to pay it all back, when the real bonus would have been to keep it and enjoy it. Only a real enthusiast would want to spend that sort of money! If I could, I would..but then I wouldn't be selling it afterwards....someone will get a real nice bus, just not for that price..

It saddens me that the owner has obviously been ripped off by garages over time. Then some dickhead of a dealer is trying to cash in on something he possibly paid peanuts for.

agreed wammbles! I guess it'll end up sitting at the back of the dealer car park being eaten away by the mice and the environment until all was in vain....:(

Oh I dunno, mine sat 5 years, was sampled by the local mice and eventually I found it and made it great again :)

I love my car and was happy to pay a few quid to fix it, but as you said, keeping it to justify the money spent would be that guys best option. But perhaps he's fed up spending and just wants rid :(

I still cant get over that guy with a mint 50 year old NSU coming over to oggle my old bus and tell me it was gorgeous :D:cool:

I doubt he paid less than £4k for it??

Serviced every 3000 miles.
This, and the mileage tells me the owner was an affluent type and positively revelled in opening his wallet.
I think he had a love affair with it.........until he realised his image was faltering so upped the game and bought a brand new current model, skipping the L322 altogether, is this someone to feel pity for?
How else are we to get out grubby mitts on them were it not for the flashy elite?
