Hello everyone,
the day before yesterday my P38 was running perfectly. Unfortunately not today.
I overhauled my old compressor. Yesterday I removed the new/current one and installed the other one. I wanted to see if I had done everything right.
Immediately the EAS error came up, the car lowered.
I have just reinstalled the new one but unfortunately nothing happens. The compressor runs, gets warm but the car doesn't lift. Not even after 10 minutes.
Do I have to clear the EAS error first? Why does the error occur?
I haven't changed anything - apart from briefly replacing the compressor. I thought the swap was purely “mechanical” so nothing to do with software or anything like that. It's just the 3 screws and the tube.
Thank you! I'm at a loss and annoyed with myself.

Once it's received a hard fault the code will need to be cleared before the system works and then find out what's wrong.
Go back over the rebuilt compressor and check for an error on the rebuild.
Always go back to the last thing you did and go from there. 👍

I was just at LandRover Service and wanted to borrow a unit to reset. Unfortunately they were not ready. In general, the service was not good.
ok, so I have to buy this “eas kicker”? Any recommendations here? don't want to buy anything false.

all the lights are on.

So, I've now been down for 3 hours. I'm sure that everything is connected again - as it was before.

Now I have to clear the error.
Is the “EAS Kicker Lite Range Rover P38” the easiest and best solution for me?

Unfortunately I am under pressure as I have to drive the car.
Thanks!!!

1) Cheapest solution is to buy an EAS USB-Serial diagnostic cable & download the free EAS-Unlock software.
2) EAS Kicker will be minimum £65 plus shipping.
3) Best solution is to buy a P38 Nanocom Evolution.

Another option is to add your town name to your profile & also check LZIR for someone nearby with diagnostics.

Plus 1 on the town name. Most of us have the software to reset

Thank you for your support.
Yesterday I took out the old laptop. windows xp is already installed and it also has the serial interface. I'm going to spend a lot of time with it - I want to keep my car for a very long time.
The nanocom will certainly come later.

Can I use this cable?

and here I also found something interesting: maybe this is better?

Don't waste money on the EAS kicker.
Can you connect to the internet with your XP laptop? You will most likely need to download Netframework from Microsoft in order for the EAS software to run.
The P38 is not OBD compliant, very few diagnostic tools will work with it so I wouldn't touch anything from Amazon.
Buy a set of 4 Schrader valves, you can then inflate the suspension manually with either a garage compressor or one of the 12 volt tyre inflators.
If your refurbished pump failed to make pressure, it will have logged a fault which will have o be cleared before the EAS will work again.
You say the pump was running and got warm, check that the blue pipe from the compressor, it may have split.

If you unplugged the diaphragm valve(its the two pin connector that sits right next to the compressor) or something went wrong with its electrical connection you also wont build any preassure. The compressor will just be pumping back into atmosphere.
