compreser change

can anybody give me any tips on changing my air compresor if i just disconnect it will any faults come up on the dash and can i just let the air come out of the air pipe any advice would be most welcome have looked thru the threads but cant seem to find the answer thanks dave sorry forgot to say its ap38

Just unplug it from the multi-plug and release the air tube. No air should come out as there is a non return valve in the system. You will not get any faults up either. When refitting, do not overtighten the three M5 nyloc nuts securing the compressor to it's mounting otherwise you will squash the flimsy steel section of the rubber mounts and the compressor will be very noisy-just a light pinch will be o.k.
