Complete pig!!!

HI ALL. im having trouble with my newly acquired disco. bough it, drove it home, came out and wouldn't go! its a 97 on an R. to start with ive checked the glow plugs,all good. replaced fuel filter and now replaced the lift pump which is working well when done manually by hand. from here on in im pretty much clueless!! ive read it can be the little black box of tricks on the back of it,which doesn't look good,and removed the plunger and still nothing. turns over really well but doesn't seem to be any life in it anywhere??

Power to the stop solenoid on the injection pump?

"turns over really well but doesn't seem to be any life in it anywhere" classic signs of snapped timing belt.

Take the oil filler cap off and see if the tappets are moving when it's turned over.

plus one,take a direct 12v feed to it from the battery and go from there
