On that note I'd be here for some fist class help :) but maybe a fuse box issue, under the dash drivers side, would be my first port of call to check (internal corrosion along with the wiring block connectors) having said that I would wait for sierrafery to come along as electrically he knows these things inside out, sorry I can't be of more help but hope you get this sorted, best of luck.
thank you at present I feel like I'm hitting my head against a brick wall just when we think it's sorted it does it again

+1 but my money is on the engine bay fusebox which might have been disturbed by those schmucks who thought that the Td5 has a camshaft sensor... the plugs at the botton of that fusebox used to suffer from heat and vibrations, i'd lift it and give contact spray in all it's connectors as frst move
