Just about to get a Renault 4 as a spare vehicle to complement a landy, and was wondering what other people use as backup/second vehicle. I guess most people go for 'sensible' modern techno-cars? I love the simplicity of the Renault 4, and at 40 mpg cheap to run too.

I just recently bought another landy as a second car.
I got a t reg 90 td5 hard top from the local main dealer. It has done 26000 and is in very good condition, with warranty etc. Its on the 'never-never' for the next 36months though

I bought my Landy as a second car to use for fun and go offroading in. Main work car was replaced 2 weeks ago (finally had enough of bleedin Vauxhalls), and got a good deal on a Megane 1.9 TDi. Ex demo, 4000 miles £8900. Dynamique spec, 130HP. It's nearly as quick off the mark as the V8 (9s 0-60) but does an average of around 53 mpg - better than 18 from the landy! Looks a bit funny the Megane, but drives fine, and will serve me well going up and down the M1 between Leeds and Derby.

i have a helicopter which is brilliant off road, it too is quick orf the mark
it has a 9 ltr 350 hp motor with altitude adjustable boost. i get about 76.532 mpg and it doesn't seem to bother about traffic jams

The boring family car is a Toyota Estima (imported previa) dull dull dull can't remember
the last time I started it. I use a Honda CBR600 to get to work and get my speed
kicks I get 50mpg oot of that :D

Excellent choice, I've had loads of minis and have in fact got a mini minus in the
garage as my project car..... :^ )
