Well, I've had her done and she looks OK. The chassis was in remarkably good condition...is there any truth that the military ones are made from heavier steel?
I need to get underneath and double check everything carefully as I did spot a couple of areas where the coating was a bit thin but it's basically OK. They didn't do the rear crossmember face as the Dinitrol would make a mess of clothes etc forever, but I did sort it with some Buzzweld CIO in a rattle can. Absolutely fantastic stuff.
So yes, that is an original 1986 110 chassis with the original crossmember...got to be happy with that!
No getting away from it now...she's going to need a respray soon!
