Nice summer project. You need to get the beasty working first, how on earth are you going to lift the box back in?
Copy of Razzle. Don't need blue pills yet.

It's the transfer box that is the bastard.112lb or 1cwt. You will have to Google that Henry. The R30 is a relatively light unit, considering..
You'll handle it Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Did it myself when the clutch went on My VM Classic many years ago in France and 1000 miles from home no jack and no choicePfft thats nothing..
Bit of pain in the neck literally, having to wiggle under a P38 with it "resting" on your chest got it up there though,

Was up to it then.A challenge then

I've gone bl**dy soft
It's the uneven distribution of weight and the awkward shape thats the problem.I had to slide underneath the car then lift the t/box sideways on to my stomach, wriggle into position, then lift it on to the gearbox output shaft then push it forward. What a bastard. It’s lining it up to get back on is the tricky part. Or so I hear , hope I never have to find out

I drove on to 4ramps, pressed the button on the dash to raise the car, look at a 38 with proper suspension if you don't know what I mean, axle stands for saftey and loads of access. No need for breeze blocks. When iI did it in France the Classic was on coils and I was built like a racing snake so need for any blocks/ramps. Didn't have either any way. clutch aligning shaft I whittled from a willow branch.Lifted on coils I have no issues with space underneath. I drive up onto four breeze blocks and you could have a tea party under there need a spacer for jack though as fully extended it won’t lift anything
I know it will drop out okay (only one way to go) but from sounds of things I doubt I could get it back in on my own so don’t think il be trying that Or Henry will have to come help me - so get your ecu sorted before my clutch goes
Royal Hunters have a far nicer odour than Dunlops.I know what they look like - I ripped them out. No stinking ol Dunlop wellies for my princess
