Clutch sticking and spongey

Just done a quick search is it as easy as popping the rubber cap off the master cylinder reservoir and topping up? Also bit dodgy but I've not brake/ clutch fluid in the house would I be ok nicking a bit out of the brake reservoir for the time being or is that a no no? I just need it to last me til Monday really when I can drive it to a garage cheers everyone, don't know what I'd do without this forum! Lol

They've been over filled by whoever had it last so it's well above the max line. Obviously I'm not going to empty all the brake fluid out.
 
Stop being so f*cking helpless - you mean there is literally no way you are able to get to a shop or petrol station to buy brake fluid? Not even a taxi?

If you ask stupid **** like that you are NOT going to manage to change the master cylinder.


Yes, you can top up the fluid by removing the rubber cap - this will do nothing until you bleed it. TD4 clutch systems CAN be bled as detailed previously and in several threads on this forum, but I get the impression you wont manage that either.

Get it recovered to a garage.

1 - nobody has been a mouthy ####. You were given stern advise about the dangers of your proposed course of action.
If I had said "get fcked you stupid ####" then that would warrant being called a mouthy #### - but since I didnt, i dont.

2 - You were given the correct answers to your questions 12 days ago.

I had a similar problem in my 2005 TD4.
Cluch pedal would not return to top, and you had to push your foot hard down into the carpet to change gear, this got worse over a couple of days until it was near imposible to change gear.
Got a new (pre filled) master cylinder from Eurocarparts for £90. Could have got one on line cheaper but buy cheap pay twice?
To fit reach up to top of pedal, you can then see the push rod that is attached to the master, push this to the left and it pops off.
Under bonnet turn master cylider 90 degrees and it will pull off. Locate push fit connector, this has collar on it, i can't remember if you push it in or pull it out, but after 10mins of pulling and pushing it came off. To fit new cylinder, attach cylinder and rod to pedal then push fit connector.
Took about 20 mins worked fine with no bleeding, clutch now works as it should
 
On the of chance the OP is still around I would be asking the question why is the clutch suddenly dumping fluid everywhere immediatly after the IRD was repaired. Sounds like the garage did something to cause it so a phone call to them is in order. They should be sending someone out to take a look and if they caused it then they should sort it.

Or am I missing something?
