message him if you're that worried that he'll miss it, he might even have what you want kicking around in his parts bin!where be jamesmartin when you need zee!
gouges can be welded up then ground smooth with angle or bench grinder, its the reverse switch that causes it and eventually the wear stop the switch workingI am confused to feck! It even says FTC4247 on it and so does the pic on BritCar, but they list it is 4622, but that might help me find one thanks! At those prices, it's a no go!
Stan - Ha , thats the kind of nitpicky I like! But I have no effing clue! I don't think so, looks like gouges caused by having no selector yoke bush in there for yonks. but you could be right, and of course I am worried now, so thanks for that
pins replaceable ftc1488Thanks for that. Not sure what you mean though when you say i only need 'cage and snap ring'. if you mean the yoke selector bush and snap ring, I have those. But the wear on the nipple (squared off instead of round) and the other wear concerns me. But it maybe shouldn't. Maybe I am better asking the question...
If I just file the nipple a tiny bit, just enough to make a it a bit more rounded where its worn square, and replace bush, will it drive nicely again?
I have no way to know how much difference it would feel on the gear change between the two options:
A) file and replace bush
B) replace whole yoke with new
If you have a yoke and its in better nick than mine I might buy one from you, is it easy for you to check if you have the same yoke as mine there in good usable nick?
thanks again
pins replaceable ftc1488

pin taps out with a pin punch from other sideJust a reminder, unless I can find out how to replace the pin I will definitely be on the lookout for an FTC4247 if you have one. Please let me know if you get a chance to check. Thanks
no glue just taps in with an interference fitThanks, how would new one go in, just tap or some kind of glue...?
Still interested in the yoke if you come across one,. thanks
Could it be reversed and used again ??pin taps out with a pin punch from other side
no only turned to move wear from on side to another, its the gate guide to keep stick located as you push it forward or backCould it be reversed and used again ??
Cheers. Just a thoughtno only turned to move wear from on side to another, its the gate guide to keep stick located as you push it forward or back
you wont want that pin though as youd need to strip box to fit it ,it locates in the selector forks to move the forkha, love the thriftiness though
