Hi due to my recent clutch thread i have replaced the slave cyclinder, but i can hear it drawing air into the clutch master cylinder.
Ive bought some replacement seals and removed the cylinder. Ive just got the seal kit but its got 2 washers and a little plastic thing which i dont know where they apgo as my old one didnt have any on can anyone help. Ive searched and cant find a seal replacement guide. Thanks in advance

No not sure i ordered it off rimmer bros before i recieved the link you sent and paid alot more for it and actually dont think the seals look big enought, gutted was hoping to have it on the road tomorow!

Is the slave cylinder leaking?

It'll leak into the bell housing, so you may not notice straight away, 'specially if you've a wading plug in.

If your doing one cylinder it's always worth doing both.

While your there and the slave is off, get an inspection mirror and a torch and peer in and check the release arm to see if it is mushrooming if it is it's a gearbox off job.

Have a look here...

Just had new clutch and fork arm, then it wouldnt bleed up, so put a slave on because i thought it was suckin in air there. Still wouldnt bleed up, so lastthing to do it master im led to bleieve. Its doing ma head in now lol

Just remembered the flexi-pipe,(15 in he Diag), can sometimes fail, or start to collapse internally.

If it was me, I get a new slave and Master and swop them out, it's easier if your newish to Landies, they're cranky and drive their owners cranky.:D

When bleeding the clutch use a pressure bleed system and pump it in thru the slave nipple... strange but it works for me...

Ive put a snew slave on mate, got the right seals coming on tuesday but if you can point me in a cheap place for new master cheap i can see me having to order a new one of these already lol. Oh im definately getting cranky mate just spoke to rimmer bros again not the most helpful people in world especially when they tell you you asked for rover 800 seals. I dont even know what a rover 800 is lol. And to put the icing on the cake i paid for special delivery and the sent it 1st class. Not even recorded!!! You don't say where abouts you are?

Not many peeps do Master cylinders, you have a 300TDi yeh and not a TD5?

You may have to shop on the web, even if you end up back at Rimmers...

Hi sorry took so long to reply i didnt realise it had gone on another oage, im in bridlington east yorkshire, ive spoke to rimmers and there sending the right seals back outmand refunded then price of the others so it sorted in the end, well hopefully will be tuesday when u get the seals lol. If not im going to cry lol. Thanks for all your help mate

Hi just for future reference if anyone is searching, i recieved the right seal kit today from rimmer bros, very pleased with them for sorting the problem and getting it straight out to me again, fitted the seal kit. Still didnt have a clutch. Started bleeing it up and it was pushing alot of air out and was not sucking air back anymore. After about 45 mins of bleeding the slave and the master we still didnt have a good clutch. Then we locked all the bleed nipples up and pumped the peddle we realised there was bubbles appearing in the reservoir so we kept pumpimg and pumping. And then pumped some more. After a while the peddle was spot on. Finally got to drive it down the road. The perseverance of mainly my dad had paid off and i now have a clutch. Thanks for all your help
