Hi to all in the landyzone,:welcome2:

am having problem with clutch on 300tdi disco

clutch makes noise when depress the pedal,
slave cylinder was loosing fluid so changed that, bled it out and ok for few days,
no pedal now and can't engage gears, have removed the slave cylinder again and rod is pushed back into flywheel housing.

do I need to remove engine to get fork back or is pressure plate shot?

Any advice gratefully accepted

many thanks

If you are happy that the hydraulics are working correctly, then everything else is a box-out job I'm afraid.

Just make 100% sure that it is not the hydraulics before you rip it all to pieces!

Many thanks for advice,

will re-check hydralics,

but if the pushrod has gone back into housing,
i.e. end of rod is flush with housing, possible indication that
could be diaphragm spring.

Many thanks again ;)

Sounds to me more like the clutch fork pivot point has pierced the fork. You will need to split the engine/gearbox assemblys to access in the interior of the bellhousing.

Once you've got them split, it takes 10mins to replace the fork and release bearing. Don't forget to get an HD one so you're not doing the job again.

I tend to agree with thebiglad sounds same as when mine went. dont know for sure but you might be able to see clutch arm pivot with one of those dentist mirror things and a torch . just an idea !!.These gearboxes are HEAVY but not to bad a job, plenty of threads on here to research. Can be done by one person but two`s better

sounds just like when mine bust it's clutch fork.
gear box out i'm affraid
but i've heard you can get a TD5 upgrade for the 300tdi, i'm sure paddocks stock them
but not sure if there any good?
