Clutch clunking?

Just driving the discovery back from work and all seemed fine until I was turning into park and there was a horrible clunking from underneath.
After a short drive the clunking only appears when moving and the clutch is engaged, doesn't seem to be too bad when changing gear, however when rolling to a stop with the clutch engaged its a horrible continuous clunking?
Any ideas and cheers in advance!

When you say engaged, do you mean that the pedal is up? Disengaged is with foot on the pedal.

If the clunking is only when the foot is on the pedal, ie disengaged, then I would imagine it is the friction plates or the central plate itself.

If the clunking is when the pedal is up, ie engaged clutch, then it could be the release bearing mech.

Other than that I can't help much but prepare yourself for swopping the unit out.

It's when the clutch is down, it's driveable at the minute but obviously it doesn't feel safe. Think ill just take it to garage as I'd be a bit out of my depth I think, thanks for the help!

uj joint check your prop shafts. Get under it and give them a wiggle. you will find play in one of them. wont hear anything coasting cos there not under strain.

make sure you definitely know what the problem is before going to a garage. that is unless you know them. That's why I always do my own work if poss. Been ripped off by to many garages in the past.
