Freelander 1 Clutch change - need HELP! - Freelander 1, 1.8 Petrol, 2001

OK, so I decided to tackle myslef with the mission of replacing the clutch on my car alone.

Can you give me any advice, TIPS, or any good tutorial for this assignment?

Do you think that Rave manual is better than Haynes (especially for this job), or should I buy this one as well?

Please note that I never did such a thing myself, but am happy to learn, so please do not hesitate to assist.

Not an easy job especially if it's a TD4. You need tool to align it and so on...

It’s a 1,8 K series so not really that difficult to do,

It is not diesel - 1.8 Petrol. Same story?

Haynes will give you the information you need, it’s written for the amateur mechanic so quite easy to follow,
The RAVE will give much more detail information but aimed at the professional mechanic with all the tools for the job,

I'm not sure it would fit, but would avoid QH parts anyway.

I am not talking about the seller - just the product. I saw a link to this kit in an old thread (the link did not exist anymore, but I reverse engineered to this kit) - several years old thread - with a good word on this "heavy duty" kit.

What do you think? a good kit? any comments?

Britpart don't have a good reputation for quality. I can't imagine they make there own clutches, but in general there stiff is very low quality.

If you're not planning on keeping the car, then it'll probably keep you on the road for minimal outlay. However if you plan on keeping the car for a while, it's worth spending a bit more and get a premium brand. Luk, Valeo or Borg and Beck are the clutches worth fitting.

Do you mean a clutch alignment tool? That's just posh talk for six inches off the end of a broom handle that you have sharpened at one end

I will search for a good kit. I ordered now Haynes. Let's see if I can understand the process , once it arrives.
Isn't there somewhere some kind of real step by step guide, accompanied with clear photos, of how to do this clutch on 1.8 petrol?

If you look carefully through the two links I posted earlier there is a full step by step for a TD4 and a more or less step by step for the K series.
Follow the TD4 steps up to the point where the clutch is mentioned, then the k series steps.
