Hello

I'm justing after changing the clutch and flywheel in my freelander, i changed the flywheel to a solid one but and soon as i finished and took it for a test drive, there is a banging noise and the gearstick sort of rolls slowly in your hand even in neutral!! Any ideas? I'm thinking maybe put the flywheel in wrong but it looked like only one way to go in???

The jeep goes into gear no problem and the clutch feels ok its just theres movement in the gearlever when your moving forward even in neutral but when you stop there is no movement it just feels normal!! Its weird because when moving the gearlever is moving in a small circular motion and has pressure against it. Also there is a clunking noise when you put any steering lock on the jeep, there was none before i changed the clutch.

Ahhh! You need to go to Jeep Forum • Portal • Jeep-Club UK

Woah... second post and he calls it a Jeep. Unforgivable.... there's a green badge all over the place- read what it says.

Once you've done that, check the engine mounts as suggested above.

He got it fine ---

it's a 'pronunciation', Americans don't pronounce the 'l' in solder, as the English do ...

Americans pronounce it 'sodder' ...... - stop laughing at the back ... :)

we say it with a ............ a not with the o. saudder

FFS it still isn't pronounced with a 'l' by an American is it ?

and what you're saying is incorrect -- the 'pronounciation' spelling is 'how' you say it ...
