clutch adjustment after it came back from garage

ok thought youd had new clutch fitted as well ,i seen them adjusted like that before with clutch slippage occuring after ,that many miles is enough if its been slipping a good bit

ive been driving it for a week since getting back from said mechanics?. but when i noticed it starting to slip...i had to get it home about 30 40 miles, and it was only slipping if i pushed it, and doing 35mph on the motorway i dont think that would of killed it..but if i aply the handbrake and release the clutch she just spins up now. so i think them 500 miles might have just been riding the clutch.
if u see where im coming from.

adjusting made no difference at all then ,try slackening bleed nipple on slave and see if its holding some pressure without touching clutch pedal ,clutch may well have been worn and this finished it off

After fitting a new clutch a few months ago i found it was slipping and i wound the nylock nut out to the end as in the pic and it stopped slipping ?????but does bit high ion the peddle ?? should i adjust again ? sorry to highjack your thread i wallace !

they all vary but generally it shouldnt be that far along the m/c rod

I had to stop on the A303 on way to chippy run to back the nut off, has been ok ever since but as i said bits a little high

usually you have to alter it the other way ie wind nyloc further on ,but if it works

Well thats what i did to start with when i fitted the clutch but when going up hill it was slipping !!!!! will keep my eye on it, thanks James

hiya.
right then i stripped everything down sunday to replace the clutch, done it the gear box out way.......kin hell was that a lump to move about on your own.
if i had decent tools and a level road i think it would of been a nice straight forward job.
now my old clutch wasnt thin at all and wasnt contaminated with oil or anything,
BUT IT DID LOOK SHINEY and smooth,
would the shine on the clutch of caused the slipping???? (i think this is only the second clutch ive ever seen?)
i will try and get a pic up later to show ppl what i mean.
i gotta say that was a good work out yesterday fighting with the box

Looks like the adjustment has run out of thread because there are 2 nuts on the cylinder side you will need to remove one of those nuts to get more adjustment. There is also different slave cylinders and a spacer on some slave cylinders.

is the new clutch okay or slipping? If its slipping there is a problem with slave or master cylinder. I had a simulate problem with my 200 TDI 90 slipping on hills clutch was fine renewed the slave and master and it is okay don't realy know what was wrong. It is something to do with trapped pressure in the circuit.

Download the workshop manual from landroverweb it give all the details on how to adjust the clutch properly.
All sounds to me like someone adjusted badly to cover up worn out clutch.
then someone fitted a new one which slipped because of bad adjustment which you are now going to put right
