hi lads
thanks for the advice in my last thread :)
took my range on it 's first long journey since i've had it anyway and i'm well impressed so comfortable but very juicy but i knew that when i brought it so cant complain,
i've noticed a small clonking when moving the steering wheel left and right even when stationary only slight i had'nt noticed it before except until i had the window open whilst parking,
i've got it booked back in to were i brought it to have a look but just thought i would ask for any advice before they try and tell me it's suppose to do that:rolleyes:
thanks in advance:)

Cv joint isn't much, if you do it, before you take it off mark the bar and remember how many turns it took to take it off, and do the same putting it on, then you wont go far wrong, 3/4 hour job with moderate beer brakes!!

What the hell are you on about ?

any chance of your opinion please:)
Aww,I'm pi--ed and now on holiday :D - OK, get the car up on a ramp and get a helper to go left and right with the steering with the engine running. The noise should then be easy to trace, the track rod and drag link ends on LP's are a bit feeble and develop play fairly early in life.(60 odd k miles) This is with genuine parts, aftermarket ones go south from 15k on.Other sources of slop are the anti roll bar links and radius arm bushes.
The main thing to remember is that LP's need EVERYTHING to be spot on to handle correctly, including tyres - RR classics and Disco's are much more forgiving and will still steer reasonably when totally shot.
