My wipers click noisily when operating with the clicking appearing to come from the drivers side wiper wheel box. I guess it’s time to replace the wheel boxes and cable. There appears to be a huge range of possible replacements available. (eg eBay’s got lots of different ones at widely different prices.) How do I choose please? I only want to do this job once! Is OEM best or will Britpart or any cheap ones etc be ok?

Thanks for advice from anyone who’s done this job.

The wheel boxes blocking can be down to a few things, disassemble then reassemble the wheel box and wiper mech making sure everything is good and tight and well lubed then there is a flexible tab on the back of the wiper box which takes out some of the weeble wobble In the craptacular gearboxes, use a long punch to increase the preload of this tab on the gear which should remove or reduce your clicking. More times than not they just work their way out of adjustment rather than strip or wear

that makes sense. They still work perfectly, but they’ve become noisy at times.
