Hiya guys,
I've got a 87 5 door classic and a friend is breaking a 92 5 door.
He has electric windows but I don't. My doors have dents, his doesn't....
The doors look visually the same apart from the door card is the newer style but will the doors still fit?
I'd like to rig up the electric windows too if possible, do I have to run the ecu or can i just wire up the switches and motors with earth and power?
Thanks :)

No lecky windows? I always thought they were a standard factory fit - certainly my current '87 Vogue has them as did a previously owned '85. I don't think the doors themselves changed (others will no doubt advise) but the ecu played no part in window operation in the eighties, though I believe there was an window ecu on the later 3.9 models.

im in australia so they may have done a poverty spec in 87?
the car id take them from is a 3.9 with a MAF

I believe the 3.9 had an ecu to prevent the window closing if the glass met resistance ie a child sticking their head out of the window & the unit was situated under the centre console. I'm no expert though as my last three RRC's have been 3.5efi's that do without such complications.
