Is there such a thing as an adapter that will plug into your cigarette lighter and give you more cigarette lighter holes if that makes sense ?
yes look on ebayIs there such a thing as an adapter that will plug into your cigarette lighter and give you more cigarette lighter holes if that makes sense ?
I wouldn't buy one off eBay. Cheap Chinese ****e that bursts into flames first time you use it, and that did actually happen to mine lol.
Lidl have them in at the moment, look to be good quality and are German made. If I had a cigarette lighter I'd be buying one from there
Yes if you up rate the fuse but be careful you don't burn the wiring out
Yes it's down to the currant drawn by the socket going to a 5/7.5 amp fuse should be ok on td5 wiring
just so when you are running your full compliment of kit it dose not blow the original fuse
exactly my pointJust pop down to Halfords. Basically, each item you plug into the lighter socket will draw electrical current (measured in Amps). The original socket is fed by a wire from your battery through the fuse box and through to the socket. If the current being used by the socket is too much then it will protect itself be blowing the fuse in the fusebox. So, if the original socket was designed for a maximum25Amps and you have three items plugged into it, drawing, say, 50 Amps, the fuse will blow. Just make sure that the total Amps of each item, when being used at the same time, does not exceed your fuse capacity. Hope this helps now get out for your walk.
I once set fire to a Volvo tractor unit after plugging in a 24 volt kettle, the loom caught fire. Luckily I was able to put the fire out myself, I never owned up to the reason for the fire but since it was well over 20 years ago I apologise to the guy at Volvo Trucks Exeter that had to come out at 0300 in the morning. Thereafter I powered the kettle straight off the batteries.
Providing you don't overload the circuit (with a kettle for example) you should be ok charging phones and running a sat nav.
Aren't Volvo cig sockets 12 volts ? melted the fuse on one with my 24v kettle years ago
Cig lighters draw a lot of amps and are fused accordingly, three sat navs will be no problem![]()
A the risk of keeping things nice and simple. I got one of the triple adaptors from ALDI/LIDL (can't remember which), and regularly have a Satnav and 2 phone chargers plugged into it without any problems
