Howdy all, here's one to make you laugh. Thought I'd save a bit of money and change the oil in a car park where I was working.thought I had it in hand as the previous owner had conveniently made a nice 50mm hole in the sump guard.Cut a long story short having let it drain into a container and returned an hour later to discover about a litre of gear oil!!!! What an absolute tit.stuck in a car park can't drive off rac on the way!!!!!!! The moral of this tale my friends is remove the bloody sump guard

The full tale was to change the engine oil but hey Ho .I'm blaming the the previous owner.Fancy cutting a nice hole under the final drive sump.But then again .........I am a tit and should have checked!!!

i'm guessing he has a gaylander as he was talking "sump guard" well explains a lot

Give me chance here lads anyway I ain't no gaylander . Used to play for the mighty Gloucester rugby a few moons ago !Bought a freelander es premium on an 03 installed egr bypass and fitted a tuning module getting 40 plus to gallon and 0-60
is 8.5seconds absolutely lovin it

gaylander is a common term for the freelander as it compared to the rest of the LR range its a bit girly
