Yeah I suppose thats a good idea. Each will feel very powerful anyways as I will be going from a 1.2 engine so. I'll need to get some test drives booked soon!Try both before buying, you may prefer one to the other a lot
Best choices, the two best Diesels there
TDI200 a bit old for spares. TDCI crap
TDI300 is reliable and parts are available
TD5 is powerful, reliable and sounds great
V8 sounds nice but old and no quicker than a worked on TD5
"TDCI crap" ........ Interesting comment!!! As I am in the process of looking for a newish 110 XS USW what makes you say this?? A recent article in LRO magazine made good and bad comments on all engine variants but concluded that if you can afford one then the newest engine (2.2) is the overall best option.
What sort are you looking for ? I have a lot of different kind of Land Rovers so I know which to pick
reliability tdci all the way unless it is our one

I'm talking mechanical wise agreed my hi cap td5 had less rust than my 62 regThats what they all say!
And all recent defenders have almost no protective coating on the chassis, rust showing through after only a few years.
Agreed not much fun to have in a pumaI recently had a drive in a new Tdci Defender. Whilst not hating it, I didn't enjoy it. I was glad when I got back into my 200tdi 90

Ditto on my D2. 16yrs old and drives like New.My Discovery 2 was much better as well, could not think of any reason to prefer a TDCI 110 over my D2
