As said. The air comes through the floor (from the outside).Pulling the inlet fresh air for warming from outside will stop it steaming up but ensure it is not pulling the exhaust fumes in, pulling the air in from inside is just recirculating the air and causes condensation.
If you put modern car heating/climate control systems on recirculation all the windows start steaming up, thats why all car heating system draw air from outside.
It actually is steaming a lot less now. Probably got s bit damp in there over the time between heaters. The other problem can be exit air. I rely on the air finding it’s way out through gaps but it could do with a vent to allow completely free flow.
