It doesn’t necessarily need to be a garage. A competent welder fabricator can do it.

Hello and welcome to the forum.
Afraid I can't answer your question.
This the problem every garage I have connected the moment I mention land rover chassis they say sorry don't do that and that includes land rover specialist in my area

It would help if the weider fabricator had a car post hence looking at garages I have contacted 2 chassis repair garages and got fobbed off

Just had mine back from mot welding, what started as a small ish hole on the sills ended up being 2 full sills , rear arches , chassis patches inner wing patches.. , sometimes end up having to cut more out to find something to weld to which takes time and more money as well as all the trim etc, some owners get it and understand that the price might increase depending on, some don’t want to take that risk of starting a job then having the car tied up on a ramp for a month. I hope you find some one mate

For every bit of rust you can see there will be at least twice as much when you go and tackle it. Body work, bulkheads. inner wings etc. If its that far gone and you cant do it yourself you have to consider is it worth the £££££££££. New chassis and all other necesary work will not leave you much change from £10,000.

Get someone who knows what they are looking at to assess it first, as it may be beyond economical repair.
Just about every commercial garage hates old land rovers, as repairs always develop into more work.

^^ In a nutshell. By the time they strip out the fuel tank, carry out the repairs and put it back together, they would need to tie up a ramp for about a week. Unless folks want to pay what’s required to cover that scenario, it’s just not worth it. Hence @Anaconda advice on learning to weld. Unless you have a large bank account, that is the only way forward I’m afraid. Regrettably, these cars are now at the point where we have a huge financial decision to make on whether we keep them on the road….or not.

This place does D2 chassis parts. No idea what they are like though.
As mentioned once the tank is out it will most likely be worse than you think.
Going forward you would do well to learn to weld if keeping a Land Rover.
Thay also fit them I do believe.
I had a front chassis section and crossmember from these guys fitted two years ago. The quality was very good.

dunno where you live. If you lived near me I could point you to a bloke who'd do it well and reasonably, as he did similar for me, and he had to take the tank out.

Expand your circle of mates, to include someone who can weld, for the cost of a few beers.... The cost of a professional repair can work out quite expensive.

or do what my lad does........ "DAD..... can you just......"

Had mine done 2019, its a low miler 65,000 at the time and in very good condition inside and out. Even so this is an idea of whats involved, and I supplied them with a set of refurbished suspension and does not include the chassis. As said before not much change from £10,000. I paid £7,000 for it back in 2007, have now used it for 17 years for a cost of £17,000 witch I consider to be good. And now have a car that should be good for another 20 years ( i will not be) And will then be a vintage witch will fetch a few bob.
So do your homework and work it all out before you do anything.
.

I am looking to hire a unit short term and do it myself I can see the biggest job would to remove the body there may be a unit I can get for £100 per month not sure what supplies are available but if there is are decent beams over head I will block and tackle the body
