So my truck has been stood for a while as I've been making a few repairs and generally been too busy with work and home renovation to use it, gone out to do something this eve and discovered I'm locked out, I suspect the battery has run down as I can hear the lock actuators try to open and the indicators flash but the actuators don't actually unlock. I also don't have a functional key. I can however get the bonnet open, is there anything I can hook jump leads too under there that connects directly to the battery? I'd rather avoid having to actually break in and I'm sure people won't want to discuss those methods on a public forum.

You need to tell us what engine you have, you could power things up via the solenoid wiring if you know what you are doing, but not to charge a battery, just to unlock the doors, and you will need to remove the wiring to avoid any damage as I assume it will be quite tight in there. You want to be powering up the main harness, not the starting system.
A boost pack or spare , good battery will do it.
