I'm looking to change all 4 struts and coils from my 2002 TD4 Sport to a standard TD4 setup. I read on here that sport suspension is 20mm lower.

Does anyone know if I can just literally remove all the old knackered sport shocks and re-fit with new standard TD4s? In theory giving a 20mm lift also.

Cheers!

I’ve a TD4 Sport, I think it’s 30mm lower than standard.

I’m going to replace the back box with a slimline one which, in theory, should give me about 30-40mm more clearance!

I'd quite like a 30mm lift if the standard shocks will fit!

If your gonna do springs and shocks might as well do the longer springs and shocks that lift the car around 40mm above a standard. Someone will link them soon.

Are you sure it's a Sport, or just made to look like it, as the Sport wasn't released until late 2003.

Also keep in mind that replacing the Sport springs and shocks with standard springs and shocks, will affect it's value and it's handling.

It has an S on the front side just behind the wheel arch, I presumed that means sport. The front struts are currently being held up by the springs, also the mount bearings have completely failed! I hope the handling with new standard longer shocks would be much better than its current state. I did't know anything about freelanders when I bought this one, if it is a sport I'm not surprised the old worn shocks have failed as it's driving off road 5 days a week on forest tracks now.

For reference this is the height on my Sport.
