Changing from 18" wheels to original 16"

Hi all, just a quick bit of advice please.
I am currently running 18" Alloy rims on my P38 2.5 DSE and am considering changing back to 16" rims with 255/70/16.
I had air suspension re-calibrated last year with the 18" rims in situ will this make any difference now if I fit the 16" rims & tyres, will I have to have the suspension re-calibrated, sorry if it sounds daft but I'm not sure and if in doubt will always seek advice.

No it does not need re-calibrating.

Thanks Tony,
Can you confirm if I replace my 18" rims with original 16" rims will this improve the tram lining effect and death wobble. Although I have to admit my 2.5 DSE has never been that bad on 18" and I had all the steering bushes etc replaced last year
Only changing as I have offer of a lovely set of RR Alloys with General Grabber AT2 tyres.

They seem to be sensitive to certain tyres. Steering box centralisation and adjustment is critical though. P38s were fitted as standard with both 16" and 18" wheels. So as long as everything is tight 18"s should be fine. But as i say everything must be tight and then it's down to the tyre thing. Shuffling the pressures sometimes does good things.

Changing to 16"s should make little difference if all is good with the steering and suspension. I will be doing the same change when the tyres on my 18"s need replacing as I have a set of 16"s on my spares heap with good tyres, no point in wasting them.

I will let you know my out come datatek, I hope to be changing some point this week. Hey whilst I'm here is there any special jacking advice I will be using a trolley jack, I've been told to leave a door open or tail gate. To inhibit suspension??

Yes leave the tailgate open to freeze the suspension, jacking points are given in the owners manual but I just go under the axle where the suspension mounts, this ensures that the height sensors move very little. The suspension travel is so long that jacking under the chassis takes too long.
