Have a freelander 1, 2000reg XDI.

Im doing a service on it so i would like to change the pollen filter.

Anyway, The filter is meant to be underneath the left hand passengers footwell, im not sure ? I have opened up the air intake unit there and i cant see any pollen filter, its a metal filter, something to do with the heating.

Can anyone help me out and tell me exacly where the pollen filter is ?

My cars workshop manual only shows pics of a TDI which is not much help with my XDI.

Has someone got some pics of the location ?

Cheers in advance
;)

should be 3 screws to undo on the left side of the underneath of the black plastic thing in the footwell.
Of course only if it was originally fitted to your vehicle, they weren't fitted to all of them.

thats what im thinking, it wasnt fitted in the first place, but i thought all cars that had air con had pollen filters.

in the footwell, inside the unit is a metal sort of filter which i think is something to do with the heating, deff not a pollen filter !

its not metal, its like the air filter in the engine only it fits in vertically. There should be retaining clips holding it in on pre 2001 models.

Pre LR being BMW owned that is to say up to 2000my, all hippos with air-con were not fitted with pollen filters. It's in the hand-book.
