Was preparing to weld a sill on the Disco 1, 300tdi, 96, manual, and I remembered reading you should disconnect all leads from the alternator before getting underway. Whilst doing this I arced the heavy lead and the alarm chirped, the 100 amp alternator fuse also blew. On hearing this I knew Id end up with problems!! Tried to start it, all lights on including the red vehicle symbol with the key, would not start. Disconnected the negative battery lead, re connected and she started fine but now the central locking, immobiliser wont work and Im now unable to use the key fob . I dont get any indicator flash or immobiliser lights, tried manually locking the drivers door but still nothing. Ive checked all fuses, tried holding the key turned in the lock but its given up. When it comes to electrical I struggle so any help will be appreciated. Ive searched and searched the forum but cant find anything that matches.
