I can only assume that was what someone had already done - I was looking at my dash this morning, and the gear lever doesn't get within 4-5" of the MUD console. I can't imagine how someone would manage to get the lever to hit the dash.

if its just for the stereo, i got one of these mounted in middle of dash. cheap, basic and works a treat. switchs are located elsewhere

I have considered this option, your right I could paste any switches elsewhere.
I like the the centre console though.
I got meself some thinkin to do.

i was ****ed off when i put it in , phoned supplier there response was, the way defenders are built blah blah bollocks bull**** this sometimes happens , and i did try undoing the gear stick and turning it round but it would have had to be at a silly angle to make any difference.
