CD magazine stuck

Hi Guys. The CD magazine can't be ejected from the unit-Factory fitted system-located in the loadspace. When the Eject button is pressed, the usual "Whirring" noise is heard but the magazine will not pop out, The unit has worked fine for years but then suddly stopped playing CD's. The head unit shows "No Pack" when selecting the CD function. Thinking the cartridge had become dislodged, I had a look and it was inserted.
Anyone have any ideas on a fix???????????:confused: :confused: :confused: :confused: :confused: :confused:
 
Dont have much idea on how to fix it BUT it should'nt be too hard to have the changer out of the vehicle. You can then take the outer shell off the changer to see if you can see anything obvious thats holding the pack in. To get the outer case off you have to sort of lever it open, you will see when you come to do it.

I have done this before when trying to clean the lens of the CD reader. I never got very far though, its extremely cramped in there and I didnt fancy trying to diassemble it any further but will probably try it again soon as my CD player is now really skipping badly when playing CD's that were fine before.

Post back with how it goes and whether you find anything.

yeah mine did this too on my disco. i just unbolted the autochanger, from the car, took the outer casing off then there was a wheel inside which moves the discs. I manually wound this back until it became free, then wound the CD out. The CD that got stuck was a copy, not sure if it was just coinsidence, but its been fine ever since ( 4 months etc)

Come to think of it, I have a couple of copies in the magazine but I have had no problems with them before. If I put a copy of Rave in will it fix itself???
 
nah copied CD's aint illegal as long as they are a back up of the original for your own use, after all you wouldn't want your prize collection of steps albums rumbling about in your motor and gerrin scratched now would ya?
 
yeah as said above, they are backups so its fine. It might have justs been a dodgy copy, but i also have a few other copied ones and they have all been fine. May have just hit a bump at a funny time, oh no they are landrovers and have a mind of their own!!!
 
Dont know if you have solved this prolem or not, but on some multichangers such as Clarion,Kenwood and alpine, you can slide a credit card longways underneath the cd cassette and it hits a small button which is a manual release for such circumstances.
