I have a 2000 land rover discovery series II, it's a used land rover and i just got it recently. I didn't know I had a cd player until someone told me it was under the passenger seat. I popped the cd holder out and filled all six cd slots with it. I put the holder back in and closed the door, and when I pressed cd on the head unit it says cd check and then after a few seconds says no cd! I dont understand why, because I did everything correctly. Does anyone know whats wrong or how to fix it?

Your help is appreciated

under the passenger seat!!!!!.....Whos bloody silly idea was that?

Its prob dust on the laser lens so it cant read nothing, your not 'sposed to touch em (think that means wiping it with a CLEAN t-shirt), you can get cd cleaning disc thingys tho dont know if theyre any good.

Haha I know I'm not use to non-american cars, I have a friend who is from England and he told me where it was and laughed :0) I'm not sure where the laser is do you know? I'll just clean it myself with a camera lens cleaner cloth same thing I suppose.

Cait thanks for making me **** myself with laughter with a question on CD changers and series 2, just a quick point you don't have a Series 2 (produced in the 60's see Born Free film or my user details etc) you have a Discovery 2 aka "Disco 2" try posting this next time in the Disco section you may get a better response.
Thanks

I tried putting them in upside down but it still didn't work...I'm gonna take it out and clean it probably and try it from there. Thanks for your help:0)

If you end up needing a changer I have a 6 disc unit in my disco which isnt connected but was working fine until I changed the head unit. Not sure of the make but the head is a Philips. Can find out if you think it may be of use.

Well I tried a cd changer cleaner and it didn't work, turns out that if it doesn't you may have to get it fixed like me. My cds aren't turning over they are getting stuck in the disc changer so you just get it fixed for pretty cheap not a big deal, but at least I kno what's wrong with it.
Thanks for everyones help! :0)
