I suspect not, as the frequencies involved are so different.

CB is on about 27 mHz, whereas PMR uses 8 channels at 446 mHz.
There's really no common ground for these.

Also, I think PMR is restricted to 0.5 watt output, whereas CB ought not to exceed 4 watts.

Let me know if you find one!

there's lots of radio's that will cover the frequency range that charlsey as stated.

but would you want a grand's worth of icom sat in your landy while bouncing all over is the question..

icom 706 mk2g will cover 0,0002mhz through to 45.000mhz you however would also need a matcher to keep the ariel at peak otherwise you risk killing the output transistors.

yaesu 747/767 will also cover 0-50mhz again thou you need a matcher

kenwood do a few that cover 0-32+mhz but again if your wanting to run so low you need a perfect swar and would need a matcher to keep it .

all the above should be able to recive pmr standerd but they i doubt will transmit at those

i have run all the above my fav radio was a ranger 2950 but this only cover's 26-34mhz

standerd cb range now include's midband 27.781mhz is ch19 cb standerd calling mid band run's 26.541-27.201 i think its been a long time since i did any dxing

edit forget the above.. thick **** i am mistook 446mhz for 44.6mhz i apologise but will leave the post as info.

Those are all great sets, but can any of the amateur equipment reach 446 mHz?
That's in among cellphones, analogue TV, and stuff like that.

High frequencies are good because they need little aerials.

Thanks for the replies...
I'm in the market for a new CB for my Disco and I have a few PMR's kicking about, so was just posing the question as it would be convienient to have both in one unit that ran off the cars power. Just thought there may have been one about!

if your just after a cb set up for on trail with a few mate's laning then i suggest something cheep but well made..

there's a few 80 channlers that would suit this perfect the albric(cant remeber how its spelled correctlly) is a nice multi with full digital frequency read out looks posh for around a ton new..

or you can look at the legal cobra 80 channel job there also around a ton but are classic look silver and big dials..

or even the midland range again around the ton mark..

you can set up a full car rig for about 200 quid new that will look the bollox and do the job of keeping you with the rest

and legally use a kicker upto 25watts in mobile

hope that help's

Bang on... for a greenlaner etc...

Just got a few PMR's as well and theres always one without or with a broken rig or something. Someone should design a rig that runs both sets of frequencies. I've got an old CB, I may even try it myself, just a switch that moves the mic and speaker between the two sets of circuits and share a common power source.

If only it was so simple!
Try looking inside a handheld PMR set!
