Disco 2 CB Radio for Disco 2 and where best to fit it

I'm off snowboarding in Feb and i'm buying a set of UHF Moto's T80's. I need to buy a CB radio for a trip later in the year and was wondering if anyone can recommend a good UHF/VHF radio (if one which does both even exists) so I can use them in sync. Also where is best to place it in a disco 2?

Kind of where ever you want?.. .or do you mean for access to power etc? - I've shoved them in the roof before. Midland used to have one that fitted give or take into the roof shelf

Ah the roof shelf one would be cool, yeah something that doesn't cause to much issues with wiring. Is there one that covers both uhf and vhf?
 
OK, a quick lesson ....

CB. Citizens Band. Operates on the 27 Mhz band. Max power 4 watts. Originally using Frequency Modulation (FM), Amplitude Modulation (AM) and Single SideBand (SSB) were not allowed. I'm pretty sure that these modes of operation are now allowed, but output power is still limited in an attempt to reduce interference with other services. 27 Mhz CB is now licence free. There are a small number of 49 Mhz CB sets about but it never really caught on.

VHF. Very High Frequency. There are no licence free services on any VHF band. The equipment offered for sale on eBay, particularly the VHF/UHF sets are primarily Amateur Radio service; 2 metres and 70 centimetres and as such a licence is required to operate this type of equipment.

UHF. Ultra High Frequency. Similar restrictions apply to UHF as those of VHF, however there is one exception, PMR446 which allows licence free services on specific frequencies. Once again, the output power is restricted to 4 watts to reduce the chance of interference and to reduce the range.

VHS is nothing to do with radio it's no to do with old fashioned video tape recorders!

A UHF CB band was used for UK CB's but is now defunct and illegal to use.
VHS was the crappy old video tape format that won over Betamax and Video2000 formats! ;o)
VHF is the radio band that the handheld PMR radios work on.
There will be no one radio solution for CB (27mHz band) and PMR (466mHz band).
You can fit your hand held PMR (Public Mobile Radio that is license free) into the car hooking up the antenna (if the actual radio has a detachable antenna with a suitable connector such as a BNC or other mini UHF connector) and external power and mic/speaker.
Do a search on Google for small CB unit but make sure you buy one for the UK market that also has the capability of switching to use the European frequencies otherwise you will find that you cannot use it to talk with some people etc.
Buy a suitable antenna for both - ask the trader/shop for advise on which to use but you will need one for each and they are not compatible with each other.
