Bought mine and got it working a few weeks ago.

I have it on for most journeys, on my way home from work I pick up a few lads over Heckmondwike way and chat with them.

There's a fair few people on channel 19, so if the radio station is playing crap then talk to them.

Essential bit of kit for laning so you can hear whats goin on around you, never use it on road except if im on a longish journey for traffic reports.

I fitted one for laning with friends. I bought it when I fitted the Raptor dash last month so that it fit and have fitted the antenna and SWRd it yesterday. I've yet to actually hear anybody on it other than some distant snippets! It is working and SWRd 1:1.1 so should be working quite nicely. I did use one regularly in the early 80s but not since.

They were all the rage when I was first driving but I never had one.

Have one in my Disco now for when out as a group with the local Land Rover club but tend to listen more than I do speak. It looks good on the dash all the same :D

Got one fitted sort of works when laning, well did then no one could hear my lad but he could hear them so god knows what's up with it, had handset checked n that's ok

my grandson grabs the mic on mine when were out,
yaks away, talking rubbish mostly, but I just smile in that knowing way as grandads do......

I never taught him how to use the PTT

like most others I was into CB way back in the days before "legal" CB came about, it was mayhem at times, as just about everyone had one.
we formed a club, had a midweek quiz club, and I had a huge arial on a huge metal pole that ran up through a huge oak tree in my garden..
****ed the neighbours off bigtime when I used my home PTT button,
as it knocked out there tellies for a few moments.
but for those that understand, I was using a BREMI,
1000 watt amplifier :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek: an AM :doh::doh::doh::doh:

nearly got busted one night si it had to stop, but was great fun "at the time"

then FM came along, then when mobile phones came along it began to fall by the wayside..

still got one or two of these gathering dust in my shed ;)

but got a 40uk/40eu rig in my car.

CBs are often used on the Norfolk broads between boats, So when I refit the interior of my 110 the rig will be fitted on a slider so I can swap it over. I've not used the cb since 85 when I got a soft top car and never bothered to get an alternative twig mount.
