No, We should not brush it under the carpet. We should report it to the police, with evidence. Posting it here though will just result in topics on ramblers forums (They do watch....) saying "Look, Look! All Greenlaners use footpaths! Look i have evidence!" Which is not helpful

I dont agree with the whole going straight to the cops i think you should have done a face to face first, chances are now that he might find out about this thread and those nails you mentioned might find there way into your tyres.
Dont get me wrong i understand why youve done what youve done but i would have at least had a chat awith the guy before squealling on him.

If it was me in your situation i would have spoke to the guy and if he did say " fukk off " then i would have reported it but in my own opinion i think youve handled this wrong. Sorry but running to the cops with just info on a landy using a restricted lane will just add fuel to some already burning fires.

I was thinking the same thing and lets face it most ramblers don't give a crap that most of us are law abiding, they are selfish and want the lanes closed to all 4x4's. Even when we bend over backwards to keep people happy we still get harassment on legal byways and talking about this subject on a public forum does add fuel to the fire, things like this should be dealt with as a private matter, before there are no driveable byways left.

Exactly, give the guy the benefit of the doubt and speak to him first he might be a decent guy just unaware of what he's done. Running to the police over this is just wrong.

He could even have been turning round and reversed back to let him pass. He could have been exiting an ajoining field on business or even had the land owners permission. A simple quiet word would have done im sure, Could have proved quite innocent. As for the number plate mine is very small due to the modded bumper, I have a correct sized one on the roof rack but some times remove the rack for lanning, plus its easy to lose one off road and time consuming getting replacements straight away

-No i wouldnt be riding my ****ing horse along a footpath but if i was riding up -the ****ing bridleway 200yds away & the guy was there my point is valid in the same way.

Dont have a melt down dude at the end of the day you handled the situation poorly, and by doing what you did you've just added more fuel to burning fires at the end of the day just grow a pair and speak to the guy before you grass him to the law, if he then told you to do one then fine go to the law at least that way you tried to reason with the guy and view your opinion first.
Bare in mind this is only my opinion but personally i think you took a very cowardly approach and you only posted the thread on here expecting everyone to side with you and then when people voiced there views over this matter and over how it was handled you deleted all your posts and now your back what do you expect to achieve now ?
Im not trying to upset anyone but this isnt helping your cause matey.
Like i said grow a pair of man coconuts and speak to the guy if you know where he lives as this is obviously quite a passionate concern to you.
