cat removal

like I said I was, gave it up a while back, when I sold the garage

emissions test levels, if it passes no problem, if it dont and the vehicle had a cat when new you need one.

The way around this for a v8 is fit LPG as you can run the emissions test gas

The question in post one is "Are they a legal requirement" and my answer is correct...No they are not.

It may exceed the emissions level as I stated in a previous post.

I have no doubt on that also, but as for "legal requirement" ..... So don't condem so quickly next time

Fords and Honda also supply vehicles with lean burn engines but still fit a 'cat' .

ok so this is fact pre 1993 dose not need to have a cat to pass an mot asked my mot tester also the lambda sensors are in front of the cat so will monitor and maintain the engine management system just fine without the cats, removing the cat will give between 5 and 20 bhp to the engine as there is nothing to restrict the engine breathing out
i removed the cat off of my 528 k reg beemer when i had it and it ran fine was faster more responsive and passed legitmatly for 2yrs before i got rid of it and my mazda 626 also ran fine and passed with no cat and that was an l reg
