Carling Switches

I have just fitted some new carling switches to my Landy. Can anyone confirm that because these are American switches they operate in reverse to our switches, ie; press UP for on we would normally switch down for on.
Any help would be appreciated, I have spoke to MUDSTUFF where I purchased them from and they say that this is the way the American switch system operates?.

Can't you just turn through 180 degrees?

Also ARB Carling switches are the other way up.

Or wire them the otherway round...?

I would say the same, just wire them round the other way. personal preferance about which way you want them. All of mine are top depressed for off but thats just the way I wanted them. they will still light up when on either way.
