Greetings!

I found this crashed,'78 LWB Series 2 Landy (I think it's a Series 2) and hope to restore it. I also found another abandoned one up in the mountains for over 20 years with most of the parts (gearbox/prop/diff/leaf springs). Based upon the attached pics, could anyone advise me as to what new parts I might need?

I guess all 4 brake wheel slave cylinders + master / brake cylinder rubbers need to be replaced. Would repair kits do or must I buy new slave wheel / master / clutch cylinders? What size? (I heard there were two types) I don't have the chassis Or engine no right now but will later on both vehicles. Where is the best UK parts source that can ship to the Caribbean?

On the island, there are other early '60's Land Rover pick ups but no LWB models.

Thanks in advance for any assistance!

My uncle Bob had a long wheel base land rover. He lived in Jamaica and was a singer. It's being restored somewhere I believe. :)
I would have thought most UK suppliers would be happy to ship parts....Paddocks etc

As for brakes, you've the earlier twin shoe setup at the front so each front wheel has two cylinders and the rears have one each. The repair kits are usually described as LWB front or rear pre or post 1980 so should be easy enough to order the right ones. The front chassis section/dumbiron is bent back which has snapped the leaf spring, you might be able to locate or bodge that locally. You can buy a new front dumbiron (the sticking out bit the spring is bolted to).

you will never know until you have looked at the damaged and taken things apart. Could need a good cleaning, or just some gaskets and seals. or parts replace. Can see you need new front springs

Thats been hit hard. I know tourist firms that have fleets of landies in aruba so parts will be availible(probably). Where are you?
