Bought my first Discovery from new in '93 in Montpellier Red without even seeing the colour in the flesh, waiting for August 1st was hell so I used to drive by the factory which is close to home to see if I could see one coming out on a transporter. It wasn't my best choice. I've never been without a Disco since then. Currently in one of the last D2 V8 Premium editions which isn't my primary vehicle so only clocks 3000 per year. I will never wear it out but always needs a job doing to it. I worked out a neat way to split the Cardan joint without owning a slide hammer, please ask....

Waiting.....

Oh that’s right,
if you knew, you would know :D:rolleyes:

Jokes aside, if you see someone with a problem give them your advice. If it’s not dangerous of course. Then people will want to hear your view. If you get it wrong someone will put you straight, and that’s how we learn.
So come on tell me, you did say please afterall ;)

P.S - general rule - pics or it didn’t happen

Sorry mate, I thought I'd posted a link to it.

Simply speaking to get the cardan cup out they recommend a slide hammer and even then you need a bit of luck and dexterity to get a purchase with the puller legs. I found that you can get a 10mm expanding bolt in there (the type with a cone in the middle that you use in masonry). You can then hold the bolt in a vice and knock it apart.

As far as I recall there's is nowhere to use a grinder, that would have been my go-to.

You always are my love, never meant to imply any different.

Though I bet those that have got your heckles up may disagree slightly. May.

I thought he meant one of these -
