Gidday, a couple of things, firtst of all, can anybody tell me what carb is fitted to my 1988 2.5 petrol 110. I know it is a twin choke weber, but would like to know the model code.

Secondly, i have read a few posts on here where people with the same type of vehicle, ie 2.5 petrol 110 or 90 have had the same problem that i am having.

Most of the time, the landy performs well, but when under load for a considerable time, (uphill for a couple of k's in third) after a while, it gets slower and slower and will eventually stall, unless i ease of the throttle and reduce the demand for fuel. I am 100% sure it is not getting enough fuel. I have kitted the carb, and although the landy runs better now, it still has the same problem. I have rteplaced the fuel filter, which was ok anyway but i think i may have to replace the fuel pump. The fuel pump is an in tank fuel pump so i thought about fitting an in line pump.

Does anybody know if the in tank pumps give problems, or are they serviceable?

The carb also has a casting fault. Where the idle solenoid plunger seats is partially missing and although this allows the engine to run on, i don't think it would cause my other problem.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Carb= weber 32/34 DMTL.
When I went from 2.5n/a to petrol, I used an inline suction pump, mounted in the engine bay.
The last few months ive had loads of trouble with it, very simular to whats happening with yours.
I took the tank of today and cleaned it out, I found what looks like some metal solder in the tank, which I think may have been restricting the fuel flow. Fingers crossed.

Thanks for the link station house, i followed it, but was unable to open it. I went to the web site, but couldn't navigate around there either. Are you able to copy and paste in to an email? Cheers

Thanks for your input landrover 11019 i too had a problem with a blob of solder in the past rolling around the fuel tank of a cj4 jeep i had many moons ago. It was like a bagatelle and every time i got it in the hole the jeep would starve. I have contemplated taking the tank out and having a look inside, but i am hoping that someone will come up with a common fault quick fix for me.

Cheers

I finally think ive cured my problem.
I reffited the old tank after finding and removing a few bits of solder, which I belive was blocking the stack pipe;

However, when I refiited the old tank it started leak around the cradle!!!:mad:

I bought and fitted a new tank and cradle, and, touch wood, it's been fine ever since.
