Hi All
My 2001 D2 has a tendency to sit down with the SLS all the way down on the left side and nearly so on the right.
It only does this if I park it somewhere it doesn't like e.g. wheel on kerb or facing down hill, or when I unhitch the caravan.

I don't think it's an airbag leak as it can sit at the proper height for days without sinking.

Oh but it does have a distinct tilt to the right.

Any ideas?
 
even if you dont think so it's almost certain that the bag is leaking...that's how they do at the beginning then in time it will become worst... you better replace both bags asap then you can rest your mind in this area for a few years
 
I agree with Fery, 90% of all air suspension faults on D2's are caused by air springs going bad.

They can be bought for approx £70 each and should be replaced in pairs. It's a very easy and quick job to do as well, so why wouldn't you?

Mine was like that, stayed up for weeks on end but parked at a funny angle and it was bottom down. After fighting the urge I replaced the bag and guess what, no more bottom sagging !
 
change the air bags asap if the bags are leaking the compressor will work overtime to keep them inflated happened to me new comressor cost me about £350 about 2 years ago.
 
Similar issue, but how easy us it to really do? Do you need to take off the wheels to do it? I ask as I can only park my car on the road, to big to fit down the drive!!
 
Paddock will do a set of fun bags for £130 including post. Top quality brand too.

Use search thingy at top of page to look for Bettenbergs thread entitled "Disco II air suspension - the definitive guide" and have a right good read through it. He give a couple of different ways to do this job.

Be careful when inflating new bags. Run engine for just a couple of seconds at a time. Really. A couple of seconds. Any sign of them not inflating correctly, just let the air out, adjust them a bit and start again.

Oh no! It's still doing it!!!
Evidently I have more than one fault.
Garage says the bags look quite new...

Going to wait until the chassis welding has been done - nastiness discovered by my trusty garage while fixing the broken sensor link - I've taken it back to the supplying dealer because I have had it less than 3 months, and he says he will get it fixed! Got to wait to see if he bodges it now :confused:

Take your car down to Sixfields or somewhere similar where there's a large open flat space and do the job there.

It really is an easy job.Just take off the rear wheels, cut the air pipe, remove the retaining clips at the top, give the old bags a quarter turn to detach the bottoms and install the new ones.

Shouldn't take more than half an hour to do both sides.

Good luck and don't forget to buy new clips !!!
