depending on what you need to run, a 7 inch tablet might be wiser.

they are light enough to just use a spider dash thing, or get a proper mount for it.

Wouldn't be bothered if it didn't look at least half way factory, off to google spider dash thingy...

haha spiderpodiums i meant.

benefits of a tablet.

  • cheap, easy to replace
  • loads of accessories for them
  • do hd movies and play music
  • built in gps, bluetooth
  • different cases to match interior ;)
  • loads of holders, including rear headrest ones

Yep, I use a windscreen holder for my 7" tablet, it has maps, directions, music if you relay it to the radio, bluetooth, GPS positioning, 3G telephone etc and I found a nice app to display speed in kilometres per hour, useful for my wife as our speedo's are all MPH, it's surprisingly accurate. All for £68 delivered:D

you also have video apps designed for cars (like the insurance company ones) if you are into that.

btw, amazon are selling their old model kindle fire hds for 99quid. i've not used one, but they should be alright

that's cool. depends on what you want. i'm a resolution whore and like things fast and with a long battery life. Also to know the os will be updated for the device for at least a couple of years.

so (just for me) the res is way too low. battery is too small. unknown component quality and os support.

i'd rather pay an extra 50.. but i'd use it a hell of a lot. for just chucking in the car for some tunes and maps, then it should be fine :)

obviously this is only for computer related items, and not my fender

Looks good, Data - Camera is a bit iffy, but still good value. Has anyone got one? can vouch for it?

It says "GPS support" - that dont mean "Built in GPS" - is it?

I have 2 if you mean the Sanei N79, the GPS is built in, however as with all these things you need to be careful who you buy from, some are selling cut down versions. Some of the add's claim the left speaker is a fake, it sure aint on my two, so they would be ones to avoid, I suspect they are factory rejects.
Both mine have GPS, Bluetooth & 3G and come pre-loaded with Google mapping. the chargers have American plugs and come with a very poor quality adaptor, that is really my only criticism.
The GPS works very well, better than my marine Garmin ever did:)
They are well thought of on Yankee sites gaining 4.5 stars out of 5.
