i have a lwb 2a landy and i would like to know if i can add 30mm wheel spacers and to do something with the suspension so it can have more ground clearance! (noob)
but dont defenders have wheel spacers by stock or am i being wrong ?Wheel spacers have a reputation of stressing bearings better option is wheels with different off set 8 spoke or wolf seem to be the best.

No they don't need them, the axles are longer.but dont defenders have wheel spacers by stock or am i being wrong ?
The option that requires the least modification is probably 900/16's if you can find them
Why do you want to increase the ground clearance is an obvious question I am surprised no one has asked? For general use and green laning stock series suspension and tyres are more than good enough as that is what it was originally designed for. If you are planning on tackling serious off road challenges I would suggest that a lwb 2a is fundamentally the wrong vehicle.i have a lwb 2a landy and i would like to know if i can add 30mm wheel spacers and to do something with the suspension so it can have more ground clearance! yea you are rightTaller tyres will increase your already immense turning circle
i mean yea maybe my springs are a little worn out if you think they havent been change since 1968! a two inch lift doesnt sound bad anyways !Why do you want to increase the ground clearance is an obvious question I am surprised no one has asked? If you want a suspension lift then I would check your springs as mentioned above. When I replaced my springs (like for like) I got nearly a 2 inch lift over the badly sagging old ones. If you want more you could consider replacing with parabolic, but that is a whole other debate. Either way you are not modifying or lifting the vehicle you are simply returning it to the correct set up by replacing badly worn components. Similarly 7.50 tyres are the original size for a 109 but not all 7.50's are equal and the difference in size between manufacturers can be quite large. I run Michelin xzl 7.50's on wolf rims on my series 3 and much larger or a rim with more offset would be beginning to cause me issues with the wheels being outside the arches or fouling on bodywork.
btw its not for extreme off road but its because i want to do overlanding and i just wanna make sure i dont get stuck or anything else in the middle of nowhere
hellll noOh , if it is for overlanding get yourself a Land Cruiser .
